The exhibition invites you to discover the Center Pompidou’s embrace of the of the 60-year career of Takesada Matsutani. Born in 1937 in Osaka, Japan, he has lived and worked in Paris since 1966. This first major retrospective in France traces his rich and singular career and showcases twenty-two works from the late 1950s to today, a donation exceptional of the artist at the Center Pompidou. This exhibition is also an unprecedented tribute to Matsutani’s original artistic adventure; Through a constant experimentation on organic matter and its links with the spiritual, he has never stopped searching for his “inner image”.
