Born in 1926 in the town of Tsuwano in Shimane Prefecture, Mitsumasa Anno has been active in many fields for over half a century as a painter, a picture book author and a book designer. His unique works are highly popular among people not only within Japan but also overseas. This exhibition intends to introduce the gentle, beautiful, humorous and wondrous “World of Anno” through his works from his debut picture book, “Fushigina E” (Mysterious Pictures) right through to his recent major work, “Ehon Sangokushi”
(A Picture Book of Annals of the Three Kingdoms).
