Glass ‘18 in Japan

April 6, 2019 to July 7, 2019

The Japan Glass Artcrafts Association (JGAA) is the first-ever group established in Japan in 1972 by the people who are involved in glass art and creation for the sake of deepening the relation between people with glass and contributing to the development of culture.  From the beginning of its establishment, JGAA has been organizing an exhibition of the members’ glass works every three years, which is the pillar of the association’s enterprise and has been recognized, both nationally and internationally, for its quality and individuality of the creations exhibited.  In the year of 2019, the fourteenth exhibition is hosting the works of 111 creators, of which there are 79 members and 32 winners of the general competition.

JGAA hopes that this exhibition would be an opportunity of getting to know the various techniques and expressions found in contemporary artistic glass making and thus to have a good sense of understanding the attraction and possibilities of glass as a medium.
